Corona Non-Alcoholic Review
Corona NA is not trying to win a beer tasting. It is trying to be a cold bottle with lime when everyone else is drinking beach beer.
What it tastes like
Corona NA is pale, light, and mild. The beer part is simple: soft grain, gentle bubbles, very little bitterness. Add lime and it becomes more convincing, because that is how many people drink Corona anyway.
Where to buy
For Corona NA, check local prices first. This is the kind of beer many stores carry.
When I would buy it
I would buy Corona NA for tacos, chips, guacamole, grilled fish, beach food, pool days, and summer dinners. It can also work for people who do not want the hop smell of NA IPA.
The lime matters. Without it, the beer is very mild; with it, the whole thing works better with tacos and beach food.
Who should skip it
Skip Corona NA if you want bitterness, malt, roast, or a beer that tastes interesting on its own. Bitburger, Clausthaler, Athletic Run Wild, or Guinness 0 will give you more to think about.
What to compare it with
Heineken 0.0 tastes more like a standard international lager. Corona NA tastes more tied to lime, sun, and simple food. If I had tacos and lime on the table, Corona is the one I would grab.
Bottom line
Corona NA is not trying to win a beer tasting. It is trying to be a cold bottle with lime when everyone else is drinking beach beer.
I would not pour this for someone as a beer tasting. I would hand it over with tacos, chips, salsa, and a lime wedge.
Put it in the fridge long before you need it, add lime, and drink it with food. That is the version of Corona NA that works. Warm from the bottle, it can taste too mild.
Best way to drink it
Drink Corona NA very cold with lime. The lime is not decoration here; it sharpens the beer, cuts the sweetness, and makes the whole thing taste closer to the beach-and-taco version people expect from Corona.
I would open it with tacos, chips and salsa, grilled fish, burgers, or anything salty and casual. I would not choose it for slow sipping on its own when a hoppier NA beer or crisp German lager is available.
